I use Photoshop elements 3.0. I did the "control G" but only a small portion of the template got colored. Also, do you download templates directly into your program or do you save it in "my pictures" like you would a background or element?

RE: How do you use a template?

from http://digital-scrapbooking.org
http://alexis3700.wordpress.com/2007/06/08/layered-template-tutorial-freebie/
http://mistycatodesigns.blogspot.com/2007/03/layered-template-tutorial.html
If you have PSP then read this post
Smile
http://digital-scrapbooking.org/boards/viewtopic.php?p=8921&highlight=#8921

RE: How do you use a template?

Sorry just re -read your question. How to make template.

Add a layer for each pattern/shape you want and use a different shade of grey. Save it as PSD format. Don't flatten the image as this merges it all together.

Not sure where to find a tutorial but I'm sure if you search - photoshop templates PSD format it would probably produce something.

Have fun.

RE: How do you use a template?

Hi - if you are using photoshop CS2 you will need to Ctrl Alt G to get it to drop into the template. Make sure before dragging your image into the template that you have selected the layer you want to drop into and then drag over.

I had photoshop 6 and Ctrl G works there but not with CS2 or perhaps even CS3.

All depends what program you have. I hope this has helped you out, otherwise post another question and mention which program you are using.

Have a great day.

RE: How do you use a template?

Also referred to as creating a Clipping Mask.

RE: How do you use a template?

Also referred to as creating a Clipping Mask.

RE: How do you use a template?

They key to it is Ctrl G. You drag your papers over onto the template, position them directly above the layer you want it on, hit Ctrl G, and viola, it links them together, crops off any excess.

For smaller layers, you have to crop to general dimensions to keep important things from getting cut off.

That's pretty simplistic, but try it and you will see how it works.

How do you use a template?

A template...NOT a quick page.
